However, some application, payment, screening, communication, audit, or transaction records may be retained longer where required or justified by legal, financial, security, fraud prevention, dispute, compliance, or business record needs.6. Property owners, managers, agents, or authorized representatives may receive access to application information and uploaded documents only where connected to a submitted application, booking, lease, payment, dispute, or property-related request. They are expected to keep tenant information confidential and use it only for legitimate rental, screening, lease, compliance, or dispute purposes.
Bahama Homes may log document access activity, including who viewed or downloaded a document, the time of access, the related application, and relevant security information. These logs help support security, audit, fraud prevention, dispute resolution, and compliance.
A user may request deletion or restriction of application records or uploaded documents, subject to verification and applicable exceptions. We may retain certain records where needed for legal, regulatory, tax, accounting, audit, fraud prevention, security, chargeback, dispute resolution, enforcement, or legitimate business record purposes.
Under applicable Bahamian data protection laws and other applicable privacy laws, you may have the right to request access to personal information we hold about you, request correction of inaccurate personal information, request deletion or restriction of certain personal information, withdraw consent where processing is based on consent, object to certain processing where applicable, and opt out of marketing communications. If you are located outside The Bahamas, additional privacy rights may apply depending on your location and the laws that apply to the relevant service, transaction, or processing activity. We may verify your identity before processing certain requests. By submitting a rental application through Bahama Homes, you authorize Bahama Homes, the relevant property owner or manager, authorized representatives, and Screening Providers to collect, review, verify, and share relevant information for the purpose of assessing suitability as a tenant, verifying information, reducing fraud, preparing lease documents, and supporting the rental process. This consent forms part of this Privacy Policy and our Terms. Purpose of screening You authorize Bahama Homes and its Screening Providers to Application and screening fees are non-refundable except where required by law or in cases of duplicate or unauthorized charges. Screening, verification, uploaded documents, or application review do not guarantee approval. Property owners, managers, or authorized representatives make independent approval decisions.13.
